Ernesto
‘Boogie’ Cruz Boydon has over twenty four (24) years of experience in
the Information Technology industry. Among the executive positions that
he has held in industry are as Projects Director for Dataflow, Inc.; as
General Manager of EDINet Philippines of the Ayala Group of Companies;
and as President & CEO of Inobbar Technologies Corporation. He is
currently the General Manager of Elcott CyberOutsource, a company that
specializes in Web Solutions and ICT Training.
He
has also been an IT educator for the same number of years and is
currently connected with the Ateneo de Manila University, the Asia Pacific College, the Technological Institute of the Philippines, and the University of San Jose – Recolectos in Cebu
where he conducts online learning classes for their MSIT program.
Previously, he has also taught and worked with the Trinity College of
Quezon City (now the Trinity University of Asia), the Asian College of
Science and Technology, the University of Asia and the Pacific, and the
University of the East.
He was a member of the National Board of Trustees of the
Philippine Society of IT Educators (PSITE) from 2002-2007, where he is a founding member and
served in the founding Board of Trustees in 1998. He also
served PSITE as National President in the school year 2002-2003. In that same
school year, he also sat on the Board of the IT Foundation of the Philippines,
the umbrella organization of IT associations in the country. He is also
a member of the Philippine Computer Society, a founding member of the
Philippine e-Learning Society, and a core member of the Philippine
Venture Capital and Investment Group.
Boogie
has been a scholar and consistent honor student all his academic life.
After graduating valedictorian of his elementary class at the Manila Central University,
he went on to complete his secondary schooling at the Philippine
Science High School. After finishing his Bachelor’s degree in
Mathematics from the University of the Philippines under a scholarship
from the National Science Technology Authority (now the Department of
Science and Technology), he proceeded to take up masteral units in
Mathematics majoring in Operations Research before he shifted to the
field of computers and information technology. He finished his Masters
of Science in Computer Science degree from the Ateneo de Manila
University as a scholar of the Philippine-American Educational Fund.
Aside
from being active in the Couples for Christ community with his wife
Queenie, Boogie is a member of the Lectors and Commentators ministry of
the St. Joseph Church in Camp Crame.
He is also the founder and lead convenor of the Ang Bagong Pinoy
Movement, an online community and movement of Filipinos all over the
world working to build a better Philippines
by starting with themselves, one Filipino at a time. He is also a
founding cooperator of the KAMPinoy or Katipunan ng Makabagong Pinoy
Multi-Purpose Cooperative where he currently sits in the Board of
Directors as Vice-Chairman.
